After Eclipse New Moon
A very thin new Moon appears above the Arctic landscape of Longyearbyen, Svalbard, at 78 degrees north, only a day after the 2015 March 20 total solar eclipse. Venus shines brightly on the upper left. From the photographer: "Mars is also there if you look carefully, at 11 o'clock position of the Moon. I did not actually see it while shooting, but it is captured in the image." Click the image-top constellation icon to see Venus captured an hour after midnight in the deep ever-lasting polar twilight.
